Abstract

1,134,996. Jet propulsion nozzles. L.I. SORKIN and O.V. YAKOVLEVSKY. April 6, 1967, No. 15877/67. Heading F1J. The invention relates to a noise suppression device for propulsion nozzles of jet engines. A ring manifold 2 is disposed around the nozzle 7 being supplied with gas under pressure such as air tapped from the engine compressor. A series of pipes 3, for example eight, connect to the ring manifold and terminate in radially disposed outlet members 4 which are disposed in the plane 6 of the nozzle outlet. The members 4 have outlets 5 through which air under pressure is discharged into the gas stream discharging through the nozzle outlet so producing a noise suppression effect.
