Abstract

1,134,376. Electric couplings. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 4 Aug., 1967 [10 Aug., 1966], No. 35861/67. Heading H2E. [Also in Division H1] Printed circuit boards are stacked one above another and are provided with aligned holes some or all of which pass through printed lands (e.g. of copper) and desired interconnections, between circuits on the boards, are made by pins N (Fig. 1) which are larger in diameter than the holes into which they are pressed. Both the pins and lands C1, C2 may be gold-plated. The pins protrude from the holes in a top cover plate having recesses in which " flat packs " of components are mounted and the packs are soldered to the pins (Figs. 2, 3, not shown). A base plate of the stacked assembly is larger in area than the boards and has a terminal strip along one side, which strip protrudes from the stack and is connected to the pins by a printed circuit on the base plate.
