Abstract

1,133,673. Extrusion filtering press. ZUCKERFABRIKEN-EXPORT HALLE VEB. 19 June, 1967, No. 28149/67. Heading BID. A worm extrusion press comprises a casing, having an impervious section with inlet 1 and a coaxially abutting perforate section lined with a strainer and enclosing a single rotor. comprising a feed screw 3, whose external thread decreases in axial pitch and external diameter towards the outlet end, and a section 4 which has a multi-start threaded exterior whose threads present a sawtoothed profile. These threads are smaller in pitch than those of screw 3, and section 4 retards material moving out of the press to build up a back pressure therein. The perforate section may be in two halves.
