A bracket, for supporting a sheet of glass in a balustrade, comprises a first U-section part 8 with a vertical web 9 with holes 10 to receive screws (6, 7) for securing to a baluster (1) and inturned lips 13, 14 at the free edges of its flanges 11, 12, and a second U-shaped part 15 slidably engaged within the first part 8, the second part 15 having out-turned lips 19, 20 along the free edges of its limbs 17, 18, which lips 19, 20 rest on the upper edges of the limbs 11, 12, and a horizontal web 16 on which the bottom edge of the glass sheet (2) is seated. '
