Abstract

1,132,620. Electric signalling systems. SIEMENS A.G. 16 Dec., 1966 [18 Dec., 1965], No. 56559/66. Heading G4H. In a signalling system of the type in which a starting pulse is transmitted followed by an order pulse, the receiver is such that the start pulse positions a member to close contacts after a fixed time interval, an output pulse being transmitted if the order pulse arrives as the contacts are closed. In one embodiment a rotating disc 10 (Fig. 6) having resilient segments is driven by a synchronous motor which may be continuously operating or started by the start pulse. The start pulse which is an audio-frequency pulse superimposed on a power supply energizes a relay 14 controlling an inclined member 24 (Fig. 1) which is then lowered into the path of the disc so that one of the segments is raised through a recess 15 on to a guide ring 16. As the disc rotates the segment closes first contacts 36, 38 and then contacts 37, 38 an order pulse of shorter duration than the start pulse occurring at these times supplying current to a polarized relay 43 to respectively open or close a switch 44 (Fig. 7). The segments 13 may be alternatively magnetically positioned.
