Abstract

1,132,417. Stabilizing propargyl bromide. EASTMAN KODAK CO. 6 April, 1967 [7 April, 1966; 7 Dec., 1966], No. 15861/67. Heading C2C. Propargyl bromide is stabilized by the addition of one or more of toluene, xylene, a non- cyclic ether, tetrahydrofuran, dioxane, #- ionone and ethanol. It is preferred to use at least 15% by weight of the additive in the final composition, and for optimum combination of resistance to spontaneous ignition and economy the diluent should be present in an amount between 25% and 30% by weight of the final composition. Specified ethers are diethyl ether, diisopropyl ether, diisoamyl ether, di-n-hexyl ether, dibenzyl ether and diethylene glycol ethyl hexyl ether.
