Abstract
1,132,031. Furnace tube walls; finned tubes. PROVINCIAAL EN GEMEENTELIJK UTRECHTS STROOMLEVERINGS - BEDRIJF N.V. 15 Feb., 1966 [19 Feb., 1965], No. 6569/66. Headings F4B and F4S. [Also in Division B3] Heat exchange tubes for cooling furnace walls and supporting a refractory lining are provided with studs extending from the tube wall and attached thereto by welding, each stud comprising a core of carbon steel, around which is a jacket of steel with a chromium content of at least 12%. The core steel may contain traces of chromium and/or aluminium and/or silicon, and the jacket may also contain aluminium and/or silicon, The jacket is formed by deposition of chromium from a chromium-containing atmosphere, which may also contain aluminium and/or silicon. A rod may be subjected to this treatment and then cut in two to form two studs.
