Abstract

1,131,923. Trailer hitches. KLÍCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. 11 Jan., 1966, No. 1242/66. Heading A1P. A trailer hitch comprises a towing-hook 18 arranged on a two-armed lever 11 pivotally mounted at 10 on two draw-rods 6 which are vertically raised or lowered between guides 8 by arms 4 carried by the tractor power lift, the end of the twoarmed lever remote from the towing-hook supporting a roller 15 which bears against a lower face of the tractor due to the position of pivot 10. The towing-hook is mounted in a bore of the two-armed lever and may be rotated by overcoming a spring loaded bolt (22), Fig. 3 (not shown). In the raised position the towing-hook is normally closed by a stationary plate 26, but rotation of the hook through a predetermined angle, e.g. due to the trailer overturning, will open it. The plate 26 may be an arcuate segment having as its centre the pivoting axis of the draw-hook in the closed position.
