Abstract

[Also in Division C7] A molten alloy consisting of, in percentage by weight is atomized into pellets of such a size that at least 50% are capable of passing through a No. 20 mesh screen, and the pellets are then compacted by hot working to a desired shape, followed by solution treatment, quenching and ageing. Compaction may be effected by extrusion in the range 600-850‹ F. The pellets being first preheated at 700-900‹ F.
