Abstract

1,131,173. Bending. PINES ENG. CO. Inc. 16 May, 1967 [2 Feb., 1967], No. 22587/67. Heading B3E. A bending machine includes a rotatable bending die 12, a clamp die 14 and a wiper die 13, the wiper die 13 being carried on a mounting 19 rotatable about the axis of the bending die 12 to allow a ram 18 to push the tail end of tubular stock 15 to be bent close to the bending die 12. The clamp die 14 and wiper die 13 cooperate to embrace the stock 15 as this is bent around the die 12 on rotation thereof, the stock being clamped to the die 12 by means 16. The wiper die mounting 19 is swung away from the clamp die 14 by piston and cylinder means 22.
