Abstract

1,131,078. Removable oven doors. TAPPAN CO. 14 March, 1966 [15 Oct., 1965], No. 11117/66. Heading F4W. [Also in Division E2] A drop down oven door 10 comprising outer and inner liners 11 and 12 spot welded together is removably mounted on the oven frame by a hinge assembly at either side, each assembly comprising a mounting bracket 36, a cam lever 37 pivotally connected thereto at 38 by a flange 45, and a cam arm 39 pivotally connected at 40 to the cam lever and passing through a slot in the bracket 36. Each cam lever engages in an elongated channel in the door and a tab 47 on the flange 45 coincides with an opening 23 in the bottom of the door in one partially open position to permit removal of the door. The cam arm which bears on a roller 55 has a notch 59 and a shoulder 58 for respectively holding the door in the fully open position and locating the door in the position for removal thereof, the door being urged to its closed position by a spring 64.
