Abstract
1,129,633. Heating ovens. PLASTIC ROTATIONAL MOULDINGS Ltd. 27 Jan., 1967 [27 Jan., 1966], No. 3684/66. Heading F4U. [Also in Division B5] At least two oppositely disposed ovens A for a moulding machine having a rotatable mould platen are each heated by melting a heating medium of low melting point in a tank 1 by gas burners 4 and pumping the medium by a pump 7 along a feedpipe 8 to spray jets 10 for even distribution in the oven. The hot gases from the burners are contained by a thermal insulator 2 and pass up a flue 5 where they maintain the heating medium in the fluid state and also heat one side 6 of each oven. A tray 11 collects the liquid heating medium and returns it to the tank where a baffle 15 directs it to the hot area of the tank. Some of the hot gases may pass under the tray 11 to the side of the oven remote from the flue 5. The heating medium may be salt, glycerine, or a low melting point metal.
