Abstract

1,129,376. Electro-photographic apparatus. HITACHI Ltd. July 1, 1966 [July 9, 19651, No. 29641/66. Heading G2H. In an electro-photographic copier (Fig.2) an original 4 to be copied is scanned by means of one of a plurality of illuminating means 14 mounted on an endless belt 18 having a slit 16, through which the original is exposed, associated with each illuminating means 14 each means 14 comprising a pair of lamps 3 having reflectors 15, the image of the illuminated original being focussed, through a fixed slit 23, on to a charged part of a rotating xerographic drum 1 by means of one of a plurality of lenses 5 mounted on an endless belt 27; the velocities of the drum, lenses and illuminating means are synchronized according to specified formulae to prevent distortion of the image. After exposure the drum is developed at a station 24 and the developed image transferred to a web 26, on to which it is fixed by a heater 27, cleaned at a station 25 and recharged at station 2. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 951, 251.
