Abstract
1,129,364. Speed governors. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. Sept.20, 1966 [July 13, 1965], No.29608/65. Heading G3B. A governor, particularly for controlling the fuel supply to a gas turbine, comprises a member 17 pivotally mounted at 16 on a carrier 10 and biased towards a postion in which an opening 20 therein coincides with two mutually aligned passages 15, 19 the arrangement being such that with increasing speed of rotation the edge of the opening is introduced between the two passages to restrict the flow therebetween. The carrier is driven from the engine through a shaft 13 and gears 11, 12 and may be provided with a wheel 22 which rotates relatively to the carrier to displace a stop pin 23 in a slot against the resistance of a rubber cushion 24 in the carrier 10 during periods of acceleration or deceleration.
