Abstract

1,129,184. Vehicle wheels. VAUXHALL MOTORS Ltd. 13 April, 1967 [10 June, 1966], No. 25947/66. Heading B7C. A vehicle wheel comprises a sheet-metal rim 11 secured by bolts 13 on peripherally-spaced projections 4 of a one-piece casting forming a disc 1, hub 2 and brake drum 3. Each bolt carries a loose conical spacer 14 which fits into part-conical recesses 8, 12 in the disc and rim respectively. Helical vanes (16) (Figs. 2, 3, not shown) in the spaces between the projections 4 induce a cooling air flow between the brake drum 3 and rim 11.
