Abstract

1,253,961. Wheel hubs. GIRLING Ltd. 1 Nov., 1968 [4 Aug., 1967], No. 35907/67. Heading B7C. [Also in Division F2] A vehicle wheel and disc brake assembly (see Division F2) comprises a hub having an outer cylindrical portion 70 with a flange 76 riveted to flared ends 80 of tubular members 82 mounted on bearings 22 on a spindle 24. The portion 70 is perforated to allow the passage of cooling air to the brake. The hub may comprise peripheral members 86 forming brake surfaces bolted to two dished annular supports 92 carrying an axial portion 94 supporting bearings 22. In another embodiment spokes extend from a curled out rim of the hub.
