Abstract

1,129,174. Spring clips. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. 13 April, 1967 [14 April, 1966], No. 16445/66. Heading E2B. A resilient fastener is made from a single strip of material and comprises a substantially flat body 11, a tongue 12 sheared out of the body and bent so as to be off set with respect to the body, a barb 13A formed in the tongue and bent to lie between the tongue and the body, the end of the fastener beyond the tongue being bent to substantially U shape so as to form a tail lying on the same side of the body as the tongue with the convex side of the tail spaced with respect to the end of the gangue. In the construction shown the tongue 12 is provided with two of the barbs 13A and a lug 18 is sheared partly from a web 17 and partly from a limb 16 of the U shaped tail. The fastener is used for securing a flat sheet 19 such as a printed circuit board to a chassis 20, a flange 21 of the chassis being gripped between the tongue 12 and the body 11 and the board resting on a flange 22 of the chassis and being engaged by the web 17 with the lug 18 overlying the board.
