Abstract
1,128,260. Impregnating wood. SIKKENS' GROEP N.V. 27 July, 1966 [27 July, 1965], No. 33770/66, Heading D1P. A gun for injecting a liquid preserving agent under pressure into wood has a chisel-shaped member which may be rotated on the gun and is adapted to be forced into solid wood or introduced into an existing seam, joint, or crack. The chisel-shaped member has a forked supply duct, each end terminating in an enlarged recess in a side edge of the member. The member may be straight (Fig. 3) or curved (Fig. 4). An attachment (Fig. 5) for the gun comprises a plate-like member having an absorbent layer of sponge-like material on one or both surfaces, which may be inserted between surfaces of wood and stone and fed with liquid from the gun.
