Abstract

1,12 240. Electromagnetic brakes. SOC. LABAVIA-S.G.E. 21 Dec., 1965 [23 Dec., 1964], No. 54130/65. Heading H2A. In an eddy current brake of the type in which a rotating shaft passes through a stator-carrying sleeve, tapered roller bearings at each end of the sleeve are provided with oil seals to prevent appreciable flow of lubricant into the sleeve. As described, the roller generatrices of one bearing converge towards the centre of the other bearing. Lubrication points are provided at each end of the shaft communicating with axial and radial channels feeding each bearing.
