Abstract

1,127,210. Terminals. AMP Inc. 2 March, 1967 [31 March, 1966], No. 9858/67. Heading H2E. A flat, sheet metal terminal post 1 extending from an insulating base 2 has in it a hole 3 positioned between its centre and the base and so dimensioned that the cross-sectional area of the post over the length l of the hole increases towards the base in such a way that the resistance to bending under the action of a force applied to the post between the free end and the hole to bend it in a direction at right angles to its plane, is substantially equal over the length l of the apertured portion and less than such resistance at any other cross-section of the post. The hole is trapezoidal or triangular in shape.
