Abstract
1,127,109. Endless conveyers. OURY ENG. CO. 5 Oct., 1966, No. 44560/66. Heading B8A. An endless belt conveyer 24 for concrete mix is mounted in cantilevered relation to a frame member 100 and is also bodily movable relative to the frame member 100 and is -removable therefrom. The member 100 is in cantilevered relation with, and pivoted at 102 to, a carriage 21. A motor 132 acts through screw and nut gearing 130 to vary the length of a strut 120 to adjust the inclination of the member 100 relative to the pivot 102. The member 100 has -pairs 106, 108, of wheels on which bear side flanges 112, 114 of the conveyer 24. A further pair of wheels 116 on .the member 100 act on the upper side of lower conveyer-frame members 27<SP>1</SP>, 28<SP>1</SP> to provide the resistance to cantilever loading of the conveyer relative to the member 100. A motor 154 acts on friction surfaced wheels 152 to extend or retract the conveyer. The wheels 152 may be raised out of driving contact with the conveyer 24 by rotation of a screw (144), (Fig. 21, not shown). The carriage 21 comprises a yoke formed by upstanding members 68, 69 rigid with a cross member 65. The latter is rigid with a tubular socket portion 66 which is rotatable about an inner upstanding tubular member (47), (Figs. 2 and 4, not shown), rigid with the frame (44) of the carriage proper. Caster assemblies 54 are pivotally mounted at each end of the frame (44) and each comprise a running wheel (58), (Fig. 5, not shown), which bears on a tread 40 of a running rail 33. Stability is provided by bearing wheels (61) carried by the assembly 54 and bearing on the sides of the rail 33. Outriggers 52 may be provided to give additional stability to the carriage 21, and have feet 53 which may be retractable by power means. The rail 33 may be joined to other rail sections by connectors 34. The carriage 21 may be used to support conventional endless conveyer assemblies (Figs. 6-9, not shown).
