Abstract
1,126,960. Shelf brackets. N. S. WORTHINGTON. 16 June, 1967 [16 June, 1966; 22 Dec., 1966], Nos. 26867/66 and 57395/66. Heading A4B. A shelf bracket 10 formed from a single metal sheet comprises a channel section spine 12 with co-planar , outwardly extending top flanges 14, 15 and a pair of attachment lugs 22, 23 at its larger, inner end. The lugs 22, 23 have bolt holes 24, 25 which may be keyhole shaped. A cover plate 30 has rolled edges 34, 35 which slidably engage over the flanges 14; 15 and may be clinched thereto. The plate 30 may have an integral retaining tab (41, Fig. 3) which is folded down to cover the open, inner end of the spine 12. The plate 30 may be screwed through holes 31 to the underside of the shelf. Alternatively, the flanges 14, 15 may have screw holes (16, Fig. 1) for direct securing of the bracket 10 to the shelf. The cover plate may have screw holes (42, Fig. 3) aligned with the flange holes (16).
