Abstract

1,126,828. Pipe joints; junction pieces; stopping pipes. MUELLER CO. 19 Nov., 1966, No. 57413/67. Divided out of 1,126,826. Headings F2G and F2P. [Also in Division G1] A gas meter installation is identical to that described in the parent Specification, but the claims are directed towards the by-pass fitting which comprises the valve 46 having a boss 69 provided with a by-pass port 70 communicating with the bore of the valve. The by-pass port 70 is closed by a tamper proof plug 74 having an outwardly facing wedge-shaped end and interior threads 83. In order to remove the plug to divert the flow of gas along the by-pass line the tool attached to one end of the by-pass line is screwed on to the boss 69, a cap 76 having first been removed. A wedge shaped end of the tool is screwed into engagement with the plug which is then unscrewed from the boss.
