1,125,533. Vehicle roofs; trim panels; rail vehicle bodies. SOC. APPLICAZIONI GOMMA ANTIVIBRANTI "SAGA" S.p.A. 9 Jan., 1967 [13 Jan., 1966], No. 1173/67. Headings B7B, B7J and B7L. A road or rail vehicle roof comprises a structural panel of metal or synthetic reinforced resins, the roof having ribs 2a and 2b formed on a sheet provided with perforations 6, and linings 3a and 5 defining resonator chambers 4 and 4a which may contain heat and sound insulating material such as cellular polyurethane resins or glass wool. In Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), the ribs are on one side only of the sheet and may be uniformly or variously spaced, the other side of the sheet being smooth and forming the roof exterior. In Figs. 4, 5 and 7 (not shown), other panels are illustrated having various arrangements of the ribs, whilst Fig. 8 (not shown) and Figs. 9 and 10 illustrate corrugated panels forming a motor car roof. In Fig. 10, a sheet 17 of synthetic resin or metal is glued or welded to the corrugations, and perforations 18 of varying diameter and density of distribution are provided. A fabric lining 19 may be laid over 17 and a further sheet spread over the outer or top roof surface.
