Abstract

1,125,463. Plugs for plugboards. D.E.B. ELECTRONICS Ltd. 1 July, 1966 [8 July, 1965], No. 29072/65. Heading H2E. A bridging plug connector for a programming board comprises a conductive casing 3 housing a circuit element 4, and a contact, e.g. a pin 1, rigidly secured to but insulated from the casing e.g. by a glass seal 2, the plug (as described, the contact pin 1) being screw threaded for securing it in a desired circuit. The plug may be held in place by a nut 7 with a captive spring washer 8 or may screw directly into a tapped conductor strip of the programming board. Indicia 6 may be provided and the end of the plug may be recessed (27), Fig. 3 (not shown), to receive an insertion tool. In use, the plugs are inserted into plug apertures in a cross-bar type board to interconnect conductive strips on opposite faces of the board, annular conductive portions being removed from around the plug apertures in the strips on the insertion face so as to prevent short-circuiting the casing 3 and the pin. The contact face of the casing 3 and the washer 8 may be gold plated.
