1,124,679. Pipe joints; asbestos cement pipes; heat-insulated pipes. TURNERS ASBESTOS CEMENT CO. Ltd. 27 Feb., 1967 [15 March, 1966], No. 11297/66. Headings F2G and F2P. [Also in Division F4] A flue for a heating appliance comprises two coaxial asbestos cement pipes 1, 2, each pipe being formed in three separate sections, the ends of each section being shaped to form spigot and socket joints having O-sealing rings acting as seals, the inner sections 6, 7, 8 being held coaxially with the outer pipe sections 3, 4, 5 by asbestos cement spacer rings 11, 12, 36, 43. Both the outer pipe, which is fitted against the wall 9 by brackets, and the inner pipe, which is connected at its bottom end to the appliance, are bent through 90 degrees, openings at 23, 24 on the outside of the bend providing an access for cleaning purposes. The spacer rings are formed with castellations along their internal circumferences, so that non-combustible insulating material can pass through, to fill the space between the inner and outer pipes. A flue terminal 46 fits over the top of the outer pipe 1 by means of a socket 47 which surrounds the top of the upper pipe section 5.
