Abstract

112,460. Heyl, C., [Firm of] Nov. 14, 1916, [Convention date]. Light, drying by. - Relates to the process of drying japanned or patent leather by means of ultra-violet rays. In order to prevent the formation of ozone, sources of light, such as are lamps with long drawn arcs, which only give out rays which are not absorbed by the oxygen of the air, are employed, or the light is filtered so as to remove rays having a lower wave length than 200 ÁÁ Calc-spar, uviol glass, and water are mentioned as suitable filters, but solutions and gases may bo employed.
