Bleaching flour; conditioning flour; treating flour with R÷ntgen and like rays. - Flour is conditioned and its colour improved by treating it with the ultra-violet rays emitted from mercury-vapour lamps, which are made of quartz glass to prevent " condensation" of the rays. The flour may be agitated in a closed chamber during treatment.
