Abstract

1,121,091. Hopper discharge. F. & R. ENG. CO. Ltd. 6 Aug., 1965 [19 May, 1964], No. 33867/65. Addition to 1,076,972. Heading B8S. Slide plate 10 as set out in Specification 1,076,972 closes the discharge aperture beneath deflectors 4 at the bottom of hopper 2 and is actuated by fluid cylinder 66 through a rod 68, the plate sliding on rollers 56 and 64, the chamber 60 being made gastight so that when hopper 2 is at a higher pressure gas cannot escape sideways through the aperture shown. Additionally the valve plate 10 may be driven by rack-and-pinion means, the rack being formed by a chain carried by the plate.
