Abstract

A portable endless elevator is supported at its lower end by telescopically adjustable feet 44. Sacks or straw bales can thus be fed by the feed end of the conveyer by toothed feed wheels (25), (Fig. 2, not shown), direct from the level of a platform of a trailer (not shown) to the endless feed chain (41) of the elevator. Hardboard rubbing strips 42 may bear the sag of the chain (41). An additional conveyer length may be adapted to be bolted on to the downstream end of the elevator. A reduction drive from a main drive-shaft 32 to a drive shaft (23) of the chain (41) is provided by a belt (31) and chains (34) and (37).
