Abstract

1,120,146. Improvements in or relating to hair curlers. GEORGE E. TAYLOR & CO. Ltd. 5 June, 1967 [4 March, 1966], No. 9678/66. Heading A4V. A generally cylindrical hair curler 10 has, on its exterior surface, radial projectings formed by cutting two sets of multistart helical grooves 12 of opposite hand one to the other, so that the grooves of one set cross over the grooves of the other set and provides diamond shaped projections between them. The curler is preferably formed from nylon and closed at one end by a wall 11. The internal surface of the body 10 may be tapered and filled with fibres or powders. The grooves are preferably V-shaped and these are 2-10, preferably 4 such grooves per set, the pitch of the grooves preferably being “ inch and the depth being between 3 and 5 hundredth of an inch.
