Abstract

1,119,891. Coffee pot. S. SANVITALE. 19 Aug., 1966 [10 Sept., 1965; 25 June, 1966], No. 37244/66. Heading A4D. A pot for brewing coffee comprises an upper receptacle 1 with a cover 2, said receptacle having within it a vertical cylindrical container 3 forming a single unit with the receptacle 1 and extending upwardly into a chamber 4 and downwardly into a lower receptacle 7, the cylindrical container having a flange 5 connectable to the lower receptacle 7 by a threaded edge portion 6. The receptacle 7 contains the water for the preparation of coffee. The container 3 contains a bowl 8 with a perforated bottom 9 which normally rests on a shoulder 10 but is slidably adjustable in the container. A disc 11 with perforations 12 is screwed to the upper part of the container 3. If desired, the bowl 8 may be inverted in the container 3, as shown by dotted lines 8a. Alternatively the container 3 may contain a bag (13) (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown) for holding ground coffee. The bag has an upper lip (14) and perforations in the top and base and is retained in the container 3 by screwing the disc 11 down on to the lip 14.
