Abstract

1,119,683. Inking apparatus; stencilling machines. E. COLOPINTO. 5 April, 1966 [7 Oct., 1965], No. 14990/66. Heading B6C. In an automatically operating silk-screen printing machine in which ink from an airtight tank 1 is forced by compressed air on to the screen S at the needle type end of each printing cycle a pneumatically operated valve 4 controls the flow of ink to the screen in dependence upon a pneumatic control valve P actuated by a moving part L of the machine subsequent to the actuation of the valve P and the opening by air of the valve 4, the time the cutter remains open is controlled by a timer 15. The ink is housed in a container outside the tank cord, the pneumatic actuation of the various valves controlling the air control circuit of the inking arrangements may be replaced by solenoid operated mechanisms. The valve 4 has one ink inlet and three ink outlets. The ink supply to the screen is conducted through three rigid tubes connected to the lower ends of the tubes 10 each rigid tube being clamped to the screen edge in an axially adjustable arrangement.
