Abstract
1,119,469. Cooling reactors. EUROPEAN ATOMIC ENERGY COMMUNITY. 12 June, 1967 [14 June, 1966], No. 27073/67. Heading G6C. In a nuclear reactor, a pressure tube or Calandria tube is thermally insulated by carbon cylinders engaging its inside surface. The cylinders are stacked one upon another and are each formed in segments, the adjacent edges of the cylinders and segments are stepped to avoid thermal discontinuities. The segments are urged against the tube wall by resilient metal rings interposed between the cylinders.
