Abstract

1,119,087. Electric cut outs. S. & C. ELEC. TRIC CO. 11 Nov., 1966 [27 Jan., 1966], No. 50670/66. Heading H2G. A cartridge fuse generally similar to that described in Specification 1,108,108 is additionally provided with a member arranged to mechanically sever the auxiliary fuses on blowing of the main fuse. As shown the member 91 is carried on the indicator tube 68. When the main fuse 63 blows the indicator tube 68 is released and is forced outwardly by the spring 75 causing impacting edges 97 of the member 91 to sever the exposed extensions 53 of the auxiliary fuses. The spark gaps are formed between metal terminals 47 and the tube 19. The member 91 may be made of ceramic material and has a cylindrical body portion having an annular groove 93 by which it is secured in the enlarged lower end of the indicator tube 68.
