Abstract

Hair - cutting appliances, barbers' and like.-A device for collecting human hair as it falls during cutting consists of a kind of cape 3, either collapsible or foldable, having a collar, and a gutter 16 provided with a shoot 21 under which is placed a collecting receptacle 22. The cape is formed either of flexible material or of hinged rigid segments, and has an elliptical base, a circular head opening, fastenings 6, and, when rigid material is used, flaps under the chin which may fall inwardly on the chest. The gutter may form the lower port of the cape, or it may be secured to the chair. In the latter case, it is provided with a removable front portion to allow the person to get in and out of the chair. An inner collar is used with the rigid form of cape and comprises rigid sections hinged at 8, Fig. 6, having inclined sides 9 forming a. groove 10 to go over the top edges of the segments and an upper rounded edge 11. The outer collar, which is always used, is of flexible material, such as of cloth, and has an inner vertical fold 12, Fig. 7, and an outer inclined fold 13.
