Abstract

A seat comprises a rigid frame (c or d) across which is secured a plurality of resiliently extensible webbing strips (a) each provided intermediate its ends with a core (b) or spaced cores (b) of substantially inextensible material. The strip (a) may be of rubber, with or without a reinforcing fabric, woven elastic material or plastics. The core (b) may be of duck, leather or plastics and may be formed integrally with the strip (a). Alternatively the cores (b) may be of metal or plastics adhered to one or both opposite faces of the strip. A single core (b) may be common to two mutually inclined strips (a).
