Abstract

1,117,114. Prestressed concrete and anchorages. LIFT SLAB PTY. Ltd. 9 Nov., 1965 [26 Oct., 1964], No. 43656/64. Heading E1W. A prestressed concrete end anchorage, particularly for slab-like structures, comprises a fan-like shell 21 with generally S-sectioned side walls and planar upper and lower walls, the thickness of the bore of the shell being sufficient only for a single prestressing tendon, e.g., cable. Peripheral, or side only, ribs, 27, 28, and an end flange 22 may be provided. The tendons are gripped conventionally, as at 23, the female gripping elements either resting on the edge flange 22, as shown, or on a separate bridging plate, e.g. 33 (Fig. 8, not shown), or on an integral bridging portion. e.g. 30 (Fig. 4, not shown), or being formed by tapered bores through the bridging plate or bridging portion, which then receive the male gripping elements directly. Internal, longitudinal, inwardly directed ribs 29 (Fig. 4, not shown), may be provided in the shell bore, and a grouting recess 25, with a threaded inlet 26 on one wall of the shell. The shell may be formed of sheet metal components welded together (Figs. 13, 14, not shown).
