Abstract

1,117,097. Electricity meters. UNITED GAS INDUSTRIES Ltd. Sept. 24, 1965 [Sept. 24, 1964], No. 38907/64. Heading G1Q. The rotor disc (3) Fig. 1 (not shown) of an electricity meter is secured to its spindle by clamping it between annular surfaces 2, 7 on two interengageable members 1, 6 which either constitute the inner ends of two half spindles or are fitted over and secured to a separate spindle. The members have co-operating screw threads 5, 9 and one of them may be fitted with means to prevent rotation of the rotor disc with respect to the members. This means preferably consists of ribs 12 formed on an annular wall 11 upstanding from the annular clamping surface of one of the members. Such ribs make this member an interference fit in the central aperture of the rotor disc and this member and/or the central portion of the rotor are of a flexible e. g. plastics material. One of the ribs, 14, may be of greater radial extent than the others and the rotor aperture provided with a recess (14) Fig. 4 (not shown) to receive it.
