Abstract

1,116,831. Louvred windows. BETA ALUMINDIUM PRODUCTS Ltd. 6 July, 1965 [27 April, 1964], No. 17270/64. Heading EIJ. Glass louvres are supported by generally channel-sectioned moulded polypropylene and fittings 3 with integral sealing flanges 9 and 10 extending outwards and backwards from the edges of the base 12 of each of the fittings 3, which also have off-set supporting - and pivoting bosses 13 arranged thereon. An end web 12' is arranged between the flanges 9 and 10 and extends slightly less far from the base 12 to allow water to drain over it. Each boss 13 has a peripheral flange 14, inwardly facing projections 19, and a central hub 18 in the form of a Maltese cross, with an axial threaded bore 26 therein. The boss 13 is screwed to a bearing 4 which has a complimentarily shaped hub 18' extending proud of an annular flange 20, the flange 20 being provided with studs 27 which are dipped to channel-section operating bars 28 (Fig. 3, not shown), by which the louvres are moved in unison.
