Abstract
1,116,536. Induction motors; control of A.C. motors. COMPAGNIE ELECTROMECANIQUE. 28 June, 1965 [10 July, 1964], No. 27250/65. Headings H2A and H2J. [Also in Divisions F4 and G1] A shaded pole single-phase motor 1 driving a fan and a fuel supply device for a burner comprises a main winding 1a, a starting winding 1b and a third winding 1c which is magnetically coupled by the yoke of the motor to the main winding 1a and energizes spark electrodes for igniting the burner. When a thermostat 6 closes, the main winding 1a is energized and a relay 2 closes a contact 2a completing the circuit of the starting winding 1b If the burner ignites a cell 3 senses the flame and short-circuits the relay 2 to cut out the starting winding 1b. If ignition fails a delay element 5 in the circuit of the starting winding 1b opens a safety switch 5a after a predetermined time to de-energize the whole system. If the motor fails to start the heavy current flowing through the main winding 1b causes a delay element 7 to open the safety switch 5a.
