Abstract

1,116,260. Laminates. DEUTSCHE BAUAKADEMIE. 4 Aug., 1965, No. 33373/65. Heading B5N. A process for the production of a building element comprising a honeycomb core, e.g. of resin impregnated paper, the surfaces of which are formed by the ends of webs and are covered by outer layers, comprises supporting the core 1 in a horizontal plane with one surface lowermost, immersing the said one surface in a quicksetting adhesive solution, e.g. of polyvinyl acetate of high viscosity, removing the core from the solution and suspending same so that drop-shaped lobes 3 are formed on the lower ends of the webs of the core 2a and then bringing the lower ends into a layer 4 of a web cementitious covering mixture and allowing the same to set, whereby the lobes are embedded in said layer which forms a covering layer for the said one surface, and then reversing the core so that the other surface is lowermost and repeating the steps set forth above to form a covering layer for the other surface. The cementitious material, e.g. of aerated concrete may be spread on a sheet which provides an outer surface, e.g. of metal or a glass fibre fleece.
