Abstract
1,115,875. Ingot moulds. GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE STERKRADE A.G. 5 Sept., 1966 [6 Sept., 1965], No. 39553/66. Heading B3F. In an ingot mould of S.G. iron or cast steel, at least one side which is subject to low thermal loading, e.g. a side bearing a lifting lug (and therefore likely to be spaced from an adjacent mould) or a narrow side, has its inner surface curved inwardly in the longitudinal direction. The figures indicate possible contours a, b, c of the surface with respect to the line d of taper of the mould. The surface may be curved in horizontal sections also, Figs. 7-9 (not shown). The inner surfaces of two further, opposed, walls may be curved inwardly or outwardly in the longitudinal direction.
