[Also in Division B3] A rotary boring, milling or cutting tool for metal or coal comprises a body having a number of inserts having cutting faces on aligned spiral or straight paths, the cutting paths of the inserts over-lapping and the inserts being brazed or secured by epoxy resin or other adhesive. The body may be integral with a shank (3) or may be recessed. The recesses for the inserts may be drilled and/or broached. The inserts may be polygonal. For coal-cutting, the inserts are mounted in boxes in a drum.
