Abstract

1,114,878. Rocket propellants. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. 30 Sept., 1966 [1 Oct., 1965], No. 43920/66. Addition to 1,111,707. Heading F3A. [Also in Division B5] A rocket propellant charge comprises a propellant composition comprising at least two combustible propellant agents, e.g. a mixture of nitrocellulose and nitroglycerine, and an insulator secured thereto comprising a linear polyester film which has been treated with a liquid comprising nitric and/or sulphuric acids, the concentration of each acid being 50-100%, and said mixture containing no chromic acid yielding compound. Polyethylene glycol terephthalate film is specified, which may be bonded to the propellant by a glycol ether, a ketone, an ester, an ethylene/vinylacetate copolymer or an isophthalic acid/terephthalic acid polyester solution. The film controls the burning at the surface of the propellant composition.
