Abstract
1,114,846. Endless conveyers; feeding material. SOLAR THOMSON ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. 3 June, 1965 [2 Oct., 1964], No. 23804/65. Headings B8A and B8S. A feeding mechanism for the buckets of the endless conveyer, Fig. 1 (not shown), of the parent comprises a chain wheel rotatable about a vertical axis and having side plates 34, 35, each with inwardly-projecting half bushes 36 to engage with pivot pins on the buckets. The upper side plate 34 has an upstanding peripheral wall and a number of feed holes 38 of the same size and shape as the top openings of the buckets and so arranged as to register with those openings as the buckets pass round the chain wheel. Very small anthracite is supplied to a duct 37, the rotary movement of the plate 34 drawing the anthracite round from the duct 37 into an extension 39 so that it can pass into the buckets through the apertures 38.
