An air-cushion vehicle, which may operate as a catamaran displacement vessel, comprises a body 2 and a pair of flexible inflatable hulls 1 which form the lateral boundaries of an aircushion, the fore and aft boundaries being formed by segmented flexible skirts such as shown at 7. Each hull comprises a bow portion 3 formed with transverse profile-holding tension members 4 and a fluid impermeable flexible curved pressure bulkhead 3. Inflation means are provided to enable the bow portion 3 to be inflated to a pressure higher than that in the remainder of the hull, when the vehicle operates as a displacement vessel. When operating as an air-cushion vehicle, pressurizing air for the aft part of each hull is cut-off and air is delivered thereto at a pressure adequate for inflating the hull as an inflatable skirt, provision being made to discharge air from each skirt into the cushion space. A segmented skirt 6 is formed on the base of each hull and in the displacement role these are caused to lie against the outer surface of the hull by water pressure or by retraction means.
