Abstract

1,114,371. Injection moulding machines. C. LIM. 23 March, 1965 [6 Jan., 1964], No 494/64. Heading B5A. A fluid pressure cylinder 1 first closes a mould without moving an injection plunger 4, and then operates the plunger 4 to effect injection. The mould is closed by a toggle linkage 19, 20 operated through a lever 21 by a crank 22 mounted on a shaft 23. The shaft 23 carries a pinion 18 meshing with a rack 17 on a member 3 secured to the hydraulic piston 2. The member 3 has a lost motion connection with an extension 4a of the plunger 4. The shaft 23 may also be operated by a hand wheel 14.
