Abstract

A weft end stripper is moved, once it has gripped the weft to a position in alignment with the picking position of the shuttle. The gripper is moved by parallel linkage so that the gripper is always parallel to the bobbins. The gripper remains in alignment with the picking position until the first pick with the new bobbin has been completed. It then releases the yarn and returns to grip the weft end of a new bobbin before resuming its aligned position.
