Apparatus for presenting one of several yarns 15-8 to a hook 32 for insertion into a gripper shuttle comprises movable guides arranged to present each chosen yarn into the same predetermined path. Yarns pass through one of a series of movable guide members 23-26 to suction nozzles 28-31. The guides lie in a common plane and are pivotally mounted on a drive member (72 Fig. 4 not shown) and driven into an operative position by a rack and pinion mechanism (70, 71) so that their apertures lie at a predetermined position. The nozzles are similarly arranged so that a corresponding one may be simultaneously moved to a second predetermined position. The presented guide member is then swung upwards about its pivot (75) by a movable abutment (79) to hold the yarn to the underside of the hook. The yarn is gripped by a clamp 19-22 and the hook drawn through the shuttle pulling the yarn from the suction nozzle. The clamp is released when the weft is picked. ;
